5/6-5/20 (Tuesday) T-Touch for Dogs (LCHS)
The Leon County Humane Society is
offering a "T-Touch Therapy" class for dog owners. The class will be
held at the LCHS office, 413 Timberlane Road, from 6:00pm until
8:00pm on Tuesday evenings (3-week session, begins 5/6/08) and is
being taught by certified instructor, Lori Carlson. Cost is $60 for

A unique animal art event
featuring paintings and portraits by

Service Center Adopt-a-Thon
The
Tallahassee Animal Service Center
will host their Adopt-a-Thon from 10am until 5pm (1125 Easterwood
Drive, at Tom Brown Park). Pets will be available to the community
for a reduced adoption fee. All adoptable animals are
spayed/neutered, microchipped and will receive a free bag of food
and other goodies at the time of adoption. There will be activities
for the children, face painting, refreshments and guests from local
animal welfare organizations.

The Museum of Florida History will host the McKissick
Museum's "Pets in America" exhibit from June 20th until the end of
August. The exhibit includes hundreds of photographs, figurines and
other animal-themed artifacts, with a special Florida component
featuring Flipper, the Hemingway cats of Key West and other famous
Florida pets. The museum is located downtown in the R.A. Gray

The Big Bend Bird Club is holding its 19th Annual Exotic
Bird Fair and Festival at the North Florida Fairgrounds, 441 Paul
Russell Road, from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
The event includes baby birds, raffles & prizes, bird
supplies/food/toys, educational programs, special activities for the
kids, local artists, refreshments and more. General admission is $5,
children ages 10 and under are free, 2-day admission $8, parking is

Classes for adult dogs and puppies, aimed at helping your
four-legged friend become a well-adjusted member of your family.
Puppies 8 weeks to 4-1/2 months (at beginning of class). 7 weeks of
one-hour sessions. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations required.
Dogs 4-1/2 months and older (at beginning of class). 6 weeks of
one-hour sessions. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations required.
